As the Alto series evolved, so did the team behind it. Alto's Adventure is a collaboration between Snowman Studios and British artist and developer Harry Nesbitt. As the franchise grew with new platforms and a sequel, Nesbitt provided more and more help. Eventually, they started working together under the Team Alto brand. Now Nesbitt has announced the launch of a brand new studio called Land & Sea, which will continue to work on the Alto series of games as well as develop new games.

Harry Nesbitt says the group has been thinking about creating the studio for some time. The team includes Nesbitt himself and producer Jair McBain, as well as regular contributors Todd Baker (composer for Monument Valley 2 and Alto's Odyssey), designer Joe Granger (Alto's Odyssey), and narrative writer Jenna Jovi. The team also intends to grow by attracting additional employees. Land & Sea will continue to work with Snowman on the Alto series, but also plans to expand the business with new games called "folk" games. This means simplicity, a sense of belonging to a certain place and time, and stories that are associated with ordinary people. Some of these ideas have already been partially used in the games of the Alto series,

So far, the team is not ready to talk about what their first project will be. Although the first teaser has already been provided. It is published as the title image of the material. The team describes their first game as "an achievable tale of growing up amid ancient pastoral landscapes." One of its key elements will be storytelling but without the use of hackneyed images such as dialogues or cut scenes.

“With Alto games, we are really just getting started with the stories we want to tell,” says Harry Nesbitt. “We believe there is an opportunity to make storytelling more important and central to what we are working on next. We want players to feel as if they have embarked on a journey and, perhaps, learned something about themselves or the world around them. Our characters will not necessarily be the same at the end as at the beginning, and we hope that to some extent this may be true for the players themselves. "

The team intends to share more details about their upcoming game in the coming months.
